First Day Packing Checklist

🎒 Bag Essentials

Named drawstring bag or small backpack
Full change of clothes — top, bottoms, socks, underwear (pack two if possible)
Spare shoes or wellies
Weather-appropriate jacket / raincoat
Sunhat (summer) or warm hat and gloves (winter)

🍼 Nappies & Toiletries

Nappies for the full session (if not yet toilet trained)
Packet of baby wipes
Nappy cream (with consent form if applicable)
Spare dummy (in named container)

💊 Medication & Health

Any prescription medication — in original packaging
Completed medication consent form (collect from nursery)
EpiPen / inhaler (if applicable) — with signed care plan

Note: We cannot administer any medication without a signed consent form. Please collect one from the nursery office before your child's start date.

🧸 Comfort Items

Comfort toy or blanket (named)
Family photo (optional — can really help in the first week)

Tip: Comfort items are actively encouraged, especially in the first few weeks. There is no rush to leave them at home.

💧 Drinks & Food

Named water bottle (water only — no juice)

Meals are provided. You do not need to send a packed lunch or snacks. JLK provides freshly prepared meals throughout the day. A small voluntary food charge applies for funded-hours-only sessions — parents can opt out and supply their own. Should you wish to provide your child with their own food, please ensure it is packed in a thermos-style container — we are not able to heat food brought from home.
