📋 Your child's Personal Care Plan

Every child at Just Little Kidz gets a Personal Care Plan — a tailored profile that captures who your child is, what helps them feel safe, and what makes them light up. It's a level of preparation that's rare in the sector, and it shapes how our team cares for your child from day one.

After you book your tour, we'll send you a short form to help us build it. We'll then present and discuss the plan together at your tour, and you're welcome to take a copy home with you — so by the time your child starts, our team already knows them, and you have a record of everything we've agreed.

What goes into the plan

😴 Sleep & rest

Wake times, nap routines, comfort items

🍽️ Mealtime & toileting

Preferences, textures, stage of training

💬 Communication & sensory

How they ask for what they need, what calms them

🎨 Interests & worries

What lights them up, what helps when something's hard

🏥 Medical & SEND

Allergies, conditions, support strategies

🌟 Cultural & family

Languages spoken at home, traditions we should respect

📌 The plan stays live. We review and update it as your child grows, and you can share new information with your key person at any time — so it always reflects the child we know today.

🌱 Settling-in guide

Every child settles at their own pace. We follow a gradual approach so your child feels safe with the whole room team before their first full session. A dedicated key person is appointed later, once we've seen who they naturally connect with.

🎓 Funding reminders

🔄

30-hour codes expire every 3 months

If you use working parent entitlement (30 hours), you must reconfirm your code in your HMRC Childcare Account each term — usually in January, April and August. If your code lapses, the funded hours cannot be claimed until it is renewed.

📅

Funding is term-time only

Government funding covers funded hours during term weeks only. If your child attends during school holidays, normal daily rates apply for all hours.

🍽️

Meals are charged separately on funded days

If your child attends for funded hours only, consumable charges apply for any meals taken: Breakfast £2 · Snack £2 · Lunch £4.50 · Tea £4.

🔢

2-year funding changes from April 2026

2-year funded places are available for eligible families. Check your eligibility at childcarechoices.gov.uk and speak to your nursery manager about applying.

❓ Frequently asked questions

What are your opening hours?+
All nurseries are open Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 6:00pm, 51 weeks per year (closed bank holidays and one week over Christmas). Croydon also offers extended hours 7:00am – 7:00pm, subject to availability and additional charges.
What happens if I need to change my sessions?+
Session changes are subject to availability and require one month's written notice. Please speak to your nursery manager in the first instance. We will always try to accommodate changes where we can.
How are invoices calculated?+
Invoices are based on the number of week days in each calendar month, so the amount will vary slightly from month to month. The daily rate stays the same — only the number of chargeable days changes. Government funding reduces chargeable hours during term time; extras such as meals, holiday attendance and additional hours are charged separately.
My child is unsettled — what should I do?+
Some distress at drop-off is completely normal, especially in the first weeks. Please speak to your key person — they will reassure you and keep you updated during the day. In most cases children settle within minutes of the door closing. If you have ongoing concerns, we can arrange a meeting with the room leader or manager.
Who is my child's key person?+
Every child is paired with a key person — but not on day one. During the first 2–3 weeks of attending, the whole room team gets to know your child, and we watch who they naturally connect with. Once we've seen the pattern, we match them with that practitioner and introduce you both. From that point on, your key person observes your child's development, contributes to their learning journal, and is your main point of contact for day-to-day updates. We do this deliberately rather than assigning at random — the best key-person bonds come from observation, not allocation.
How do I raise a concern or complaint?+
We take all concerns seriously and want to resolve them as quickly as possible. In the first instance please speak to the nursery manager. If you remain unsatisfied you may escalate in writing to Admin@justlittlekidz.co.uk. A copy of our full complaints procedure is available on request.
